So, part of me was wondering if there was a different way to access the account then the game file on the local device. Maybe if you could login and it could download the latest updates to your device or something....anyways here are some of he ways I've seen it done. The first is Fat-Free Poker. I've played it since it's web-app days and love it. As a web-app, they had to have "accounts" for your progress to be recorded and such. I think it used a cookie to remember your login each time you visited the web-app. Now they came out with the native app all you have to do is use your login from the web-app and all your progress is STILL THERE!! It was an awesome surprise. How they do it is each time you start the app, you can choose to play a local version, or online and you enter your credential (you can choose to store your password). Best part is if the phone gets wiped or you install it on another phone/ipod you just enter you credentials and boom all your account is back. Then you get into the game and your stats (score, friends, achievements, etc) are there. The auto/login method I like the most is what the IM program Parlingo does. The app initially asks for your login, then it goes into auto-login with the info stored in the iphone's general settings. Here's the general settings. Just a thought. It'd be nice to be re-assured that my account is safe if my device gets toasted.

I like the idea. I'm also mildly amused that if your device got toasted, your first thought would be, "OH CRAP, MY GAMES!!!"

hehe, actually, I have a pretty good system going on.
Contacts: MobileMe sync to my Desktop Email: All Gmail IMAP connection (nothing stored on my device) Calendar: MobileMe <-> Google Calendar (shared across my wife's and my iPhone). Notes: I use Jott (keeps notes on the server)
So most my important information is in the "cloud", and I really really like it.
I was one of the people that "lost" my AF account (after EVERYTHING was maxed out, and I didn't know how to do the "cheat" til after). It took me several (more than 7-8) hours to get it back.

Yeah, me too. I use my Mobile Me account and push to keep everything in sync. I didn't know about Jott. I'll look into that one. I was one of the people that "lost" my AF account (after EVERYTHING was maxed out, and I didn't know how to do the "cheat" til after). It took me several (more than 7-8) hours to get it back. Ditto on that as well. I didn't know about the cheat until after I was maxed out on everything. I lost my data in the last update though, and I can't even use the cheat now if I wanted to, to get it back, because the bug has been squashed. It's all good though, because just before the update, I exploited the bug, just to see how far I could take it--I hit the limit on everything! LOL I intended to reset my stats anyway, so it wasn't a big loss. However, now my sig image no longer works! It still is showing the maxed out numbers.

I like this idea too. It would also make online rankings easier (or so it would seem to my limited programming knowledge). It would also be good in case the app gets wiped, like mine did while updating it in iTunes...
Ah well, only means I get to play it some more!
