Thanks, and you're welcome. I, too, was amazed to find no tilting in his video.

If you've got the time to study these videos then you are sure to get yourself on the leader board. It takes time, patience and a little luck to be successful at this game. These videos are a must. Thanks

I disagree. Strategy is still important, it just happens to be a slightly different strategy.
In order to summon a strong ghost, it is necessary to integrate the tools into the mix. At the time that this thread was started, the tools were not as useful as they now are, which changes the dynamic of the game.
Quite frankly, I don't believe luck has anything to do with it. I get consistent scores that are all relatively close together in scoring.
Some people are a lot better at maintaining the multiplier, and those are the people that you see at the top of the leaderboard.

I found myself able fairly easily getting to level 6 and even a couple of 7s, by bringing in three Sorcerer tools. I would simply work as fast as possible early on, working especially to find horizontal matches in the middle of the screen--that was the best way to drop block into chains and get smaller multiplers. Remember--and this may seem obvious--that you have to have blocks above to drop & make multipliers. In other words, working at the top of the screen clears blocks, but won't help with multipliers. Anyway, all that said, I would wait until the"Hurry!" screen before using the sorcerer tools. Then, I simply push to fill the whole board quickly, and use the tool to tap & pop all the blocks, 3 screens in a row, one right after the other. Again, this doesn't do much for multipliers, but can get quickly over the top at the end.
However, I've found now that by taking Alchemist tools, I can get x24 or more pretty easily. Again, push up to fill the screen, then find a really numerous block to match the Alchemist to. If you can line up even a couple of chains among the remaining blocks, that'll buy you time to keep the chain going. You won't keep increasing multipliers, but you can coast along pretty far and fast once you're up into the high teens or 20s. It's not as methodical an approach, but has gotten me up to the 8s. I've even gotten one of them done, so will post again as I refine this style.

Ok, I can't go back and play unless I reset my character, but if you use the new weapon effects chained together can't you beat any blueprint in 1 second easily? If you use the weapon tricks here: aurorafeint.proboards100.com/index.cgi?board=world&action=display&thread=1492Then you should be able to get to x72 in one second or less and by using a third tool such as illusionist, climb to x90 and finish up matching any bricks you missed. Sorry if this is a spoiler but you should be able to beat every blueprint this way with ease. *but* since I haven't tried it yet and don't want to reset my character perhaps someone could try it and let me know if it works that way. Probably not what the devs had in mind though...

And... yes you can. I reset my character a few weeks back and this works. You can almost instantaneously complete any challenge using what you like to call the spoiler method. Why you keep saying that however, I don't know.

Well I use spoiler because i think it takes some of the fun out of the game. Not necessarily because there is something wrong with using the weapons as they are, but because the challenges are too easy if you do.
I 'cheated' on one of the shadow puzzles by looking it up because it was hard and I just wanted to level up. But later, when I was 'done' I found that I would probably have enjoyed the game more if I didn't use a quick and easy path to achieving a goal.
So if I had to just start now having never seen the game, I would probably use the easy route and then wish for more content when all was done.

Before I knew how Illusionist+Sorcerer worked, I used Illusionist+Alchemy. Before Illusionist+Alchemy, I used 3 Illusionists. Before I used 3 Illusionists, I didn't really know I could use weapons and simply built a multiplier. Before I knew I could build a multiplier, I simply popped bricks. Which one of those techniques, or another technique I never became aware of, was I supposed to use in order to play according to the spirit of the game?

I would say you could and should use all of those, they are within the rules right?
I played through all of the challenges under the old rules where weapons gained you no multiplier and so did not use any weapons at all. Under these rules, some players struggled on the 7s and 8s, but with a little patience most players were able to complete them. However with the tools as they are now, the setup to beat every challenge (except the puzzles) is the same and very easy and reliable.
So the problem here is there is no challenge at all to the challenges. This is not an honor problem, it is that this never came up in the beta and the weapons as they are now make the challenges too easy. So either the weapons should change, or the amount of crystals you need to pass the prints should change. Or perhaps something to do with changing how you are allowed to use weapons or the goal(s) could be changed to bring back some fun.
I think it would balance the game if the more powerful weapon tricks had a more difficult setup. That way there would be more skill in thier setup and more risk because there would be alot of ways for things to go wrong.

i enjoyed your video but what i normally do to start a multiplier is to have a this in a row : xxyx so i am ready to make the horizontal match and then set up in one column two above it and one below (or vice versa) and then make the horizontal match so that the vertical one falls into place

If you have the free edition you have no chat and the older tools. If I recall correctly all the pay versions have the new weapons and chat system.

Thought I would cross post the AudioHack here.
If you have an iphone then pushing down on the audio control while playing lets you slow the game to 5% normal speed much like the timestopper weapon. Push down both up and down to go very slow, or just up or down to slow the game just a bit. It is a major gameplay bug, and since you can't do it on a itouch it is really cheap. I cracked 500k points in just a few tries.
Not sure how/if the Devs can fix it as the volume control is not part of AF, it just serves to lag out the game.
Edit: Luthany with a touch said they had physical audio control buttons (what do i know?) and it works on the touch too. There might be a verison of the touch without them from what I have seen though.
Recieveing e-mail, playing music from outside AF, and other background features all do the same thing to lag out the game. But the audio hack is simple and lags far more than the rest.

Hmph. I should make a vid of me going at it haha. Some people would think to get on wlb you must have like four hand,s or go insanely fast but i dont rush at all. I just set up massive multiplyer as they go. My only downfall is that collumn on the left, i forget about it and it htis top and i cant pull up for more matches. I NEVER tilt ipod, unelss im using frog, and then i hate tilting it lol.
