Need a way to control the volume in game. Music volume separate from Sound Effects. That way I can turn off the music and lower the effect volume and play it in the office when I have a free moment!
Other than that, looking VERY good! Thanks!

Yeah, that'd be nice... or even to be able to listen to music from my iTunes library while playing. I do like the music in the game, but sometimes I don't want it!

You can accomplish turning the sound off by turning down the volume with your rocker switch and then turn off sound effects with the mute switch.
But I agree, it would be nice to have a sound settings in the game to turn these down or off so you can continue to listen to the iPod music.

I second the thought of playing my own music instead of the in-game music. Also, if this is added, sliders to control the relative volumes (at least the effects volume) would be nice. I hope the SDK supports layering in-game sound effects over my ipod-music... surely it does? Other apps seem to do this.
Thanks, Kevin

Absolutely, I'm for this. Volume control is MUST in any game.

I agree, it is very loud. If you don't have an iPhone, you can't control the volume at all, this suggestion has been made a few times, i just hope its been made enough to warrant having the control.

I would also love to listen to itunes instead of the sound FX. the sound is great, but I would like to listen to podcasts while I play.

Indeed...good point.
OP, send your request in a PM or post your main points here and Danielle or Jason will take a look at it sooner or later.

Noted! We need to work on a few things with the Audio. Audio is one of the more complicated tasks to implement on the iPhone. Volume control is high on the list of things to do.
In the mean time until we do fix the volume problem I have a suggestion. The music plays at whatever the previous volume on the phone was. If you adjust the music levels in the iPod before starting the game you should be able to lower it to a point where you are comfortable. Let me know if this helps temporarily.
Listening to the iPod while playing the game has been noted as an interest, we didn't have it planned but its been added to the wishlist.

Great bit of advice, but this method only changes the volume of the sound effects, the music is still very high, but its good to know that volume control will be implemented shortly, thanks for the news.

Please add the ability to listen to my own music. The included music is very good and fitting, but it loops quickly and gets old and annoying fast. The ability to mute audio would also help with performance and battery life.

It's not a perfect solution, but you can listen to your music while you play IF you have your iPhone headphones in.
While you are in the game just click the mic button (just like you would if you were using the iPod) and your library will start. Click again to pause, double click to go to the next track, etc.
It's the exact same functionality. If it doesn't work try going into the iPod and starting a song and then launch AF. Once you're in click the mic and AF's music will fade out as your music fades in.
It's not built in, but it does allow me to listen to whatever I want as I play.

On an ipod, you can double tap the home button quickly, and instead of quitting the game, it will bring up a sound control menu. I've tested that it indeed does come up, but I have not tested if changes made there will change it in game.
