I saw some people in Tavern asking what exactly the "hostility" is, how you can increase, and what it really does. I had the same questions, so I contacted the programmer for that. Here is the answer, and I hope this will help everybody for a better clarification and lead to a better strategy.
1. What is the "Hostility" and what exactly does it do?
"Hostility can effect the other persons multiplier. Hostility is damage done to the other person so like when you are challenging a ghost. If you see red come in and you multiplier drop or your score drop its cuz they are beating on you"
2. How can I increase the hostility?
"The mana orb will increase the hostility and so do some of the tools like using the sorcerer tool the number of blocks poked and popped give hostility"

Thanks for that info. I did not guess how much the orbs did to increase hostility until I got 5 orbs. At that point (along with tool use) my hostility is actually more than my 'Score' rating instead of being much lower.
Also, the Hostility seems to pick up on the multiplier at the end, but adds up during the match without one. So I never know till the end what it will be.
Perhaps updating the hostility with the final value would help players to judge how they are doing before the match is over.

Has this been resolved yet, because I'm still wondering EXACTLY how Hostility is scored. The Hostility displayed throughout a Summon is only reflective of weapon use. Rodent brought this up a while ago, but the final Hostility score seems to be based specifically on the raw Score at the end of a Summon. The raw Hostility score based on weapon use is used to derive some fraction of the raw score... something like 100 raw Hostility = 1/4 to 1/6 raw Score, up to 500+ raw Hostility = 3/4 to 5/6 raw score. Each Orb attack seems to take 10% of the final raw Score, then add that on top of whatever was derived from weapon use.
I guess I want to know if the Hostility score itself is just some arbitrary number. Does a 30,000 or 50,000 Hostility score affect me somehow? Aside from the 500 points I'll lose from my score from weapon use, and the 3 to 10 orb attacks that might represent?
And as far as the final Hostility score not updating until after the Summon was over, that would make sense if the final Hostility score is based on the raw Score at the end of a Summon, not updated in much the same way a multiplier isn't updated until it has stopped.

How exactly do you do an orb attack? Does it have to be 5 in a row of the mana orb's color or can it be 5 in a row of any block?

For an orb attack
You need your mana orb to be flashing (make a few matches of orb color) Match 5 of ANY color BAM grats you just made an ORB ATTACK
To defend against an orb attack
Dueling:Sorcerer or matching blocks next to affected blocks Blocks affected by an attack turn to stone (grey, no symbol) and cant be matched. They CAN be moved by illusionist.
Matches are less effective and r slower in dealing wif stone, leaving u vulnerable to most of the Top Five ghosts, which have upwards of 8 orbs. Sorcerer is easiest for quickly popping stone, but uses a weapon spot.

More matches of 5 (orbs) you do stronger will be your ghost, it just takes a lot of practice.. The highest nr of orbs I got was 10 and it has been a challange for me manage them.. But the max multiplier was REALLY low so I didn't post it.
At any rate try to get an high multi as fast as you can, as long as you can and when you lost it, concentrate more on orbs, it's what I do but I'm not fast enough and I probably need more practice.. I HATE ORB ATTACKS!

well...i ahvent tested this thoroughly but i believe one orb attack is +10% of your base score. Its hard to tell for certain though. So if your score is 30k and ya get 10 orbs, throw on another 30k in hostility.

For the longest time, I didn't realize that orb attacks didn't have to match the orb's color, and I could never get more than a few.
As soon as I figured it out, I got 13!
The trick is to maintain a high multiplier while doing it.

highest ive ever gotten without audiohack or my own special exploit was 5 or 6...haha 13 would be incredible. Highest with audiohack/my own special exploit was 37 but multiplyer was like 7 so it was 370% X 14k or something like that so it wanst very high but still. I got a plus3 amount of orb attacks!

I did it without using any exploit. Keep in mind, my entire objective was orb attacks, just to see how many I could do. That being the case, I never built up a big multiplier. Maybe that's a stat that could be recorded--The most orbs you've managed to match in a single game.
