Hello there, I have an idea on how to price Aurora Feint-- keeping it free for the basics, but paying for the expansions-- and maybe every 5 say expansions, making the earliest currently non-free expansion free.
First off, I would start out by merging all of the AF versions into one FREE one (Boosting downloads, and lowering "which-type-do-I-get?" syndrome). How would I propose this would be done? Well, you could make it more centered on an account-based system-- so the people who bought the multiple types of AF wouldn't get screwed-- and that any time anybody wished to update, they would go to the Aurora Feint site, pay the 3-6-10-whatever amount that they want, then go back to their app, log in, and have it available for download whenever they like. To prevent, say, 8 people all getting it on their device, I would have it: a. requiring a password for all registered (paying) users, and b. locking it to maybe 3 devices before sending an email to AF support or posting on the forums with the reason why they need more activations. I know this may suck a LOT with games like Spore-- and trust me, I was one of the ones who BOYCOTTED that kind of draconian DRM-- but maybe it would be possible to make the only ID for devices something very device-personal, like it's MAC address or something.
I know this has all too many holes for the time being, but I'd like to hear comments on it.
Thanks, Cheesegamer.
