Well....firstly I have a Jail broken ipod. And i was installing programs that would enable me to download content straight onto my ipod (specifically movies) without using a computer. While downloading the movies i made a 27k ghost without using any weapons (which is what i had meant by "effortlessly in chat guys") so...how are we going to fix this? People could probably use this same theory using safari, or you tube, or anything else if they have jailbreak + backgrounder (backgrounder lets you run apps in background, which uses up RAM enabling audio hack type speed in aurora). I dint think the idea of checking the time with a website would work because; One day I was making a ghost, unnoticed i lost my wifi connection half way through. The ghost was better than my old one, but ti said i didn't have an internet connection. So i activated backgrounder, went to springboard (where all the little icons are) and wifi reactivated. Reopened Arena, which was running in background, and voila, i posted ghost. I made most of the ghost without a wifi connection, and even though it said i wouldn't be able to post it, I did, perhaps using the ipods internal clock? (Can you mess around with the clock on ipod?). I really hope we could do SOMETHING about this, but since the movie loading is completely separate of the game, unlike the volume control, there isn't much is there? using ipods internal clock seems like best idea but I personally am not sure whether or not it can be tampered with. Thanks for listening y'all and be good *Edited by TC1 to change thread title*

technically this has nothing to do with audio... so wouldn't u label it New Lag Hack?
and that does give jailbroken iphones/touches a huge advantage....

Time check-Put it in. More than a few seconds deviance from 1:30 = no dice, no new ghost.

well if you're lagging the processor, that would also lag the clock that would be checking....
unless the server can see when you start and stop. but then if u just start summoning a ghost offline and then use backgrounder and turn wifi back on and then submit it. bam didn't work

exactly bubba, thats what i was pointing out. but it doesnt lag the actual ipod time, otherwise the clock would be behind from all the safari pages ive downloaded, music, movies, youtube, etc. So could we use ipod's internal clock, the one ya see when ya open lock screen, to check? or can that be tampered with?

I think the system clock is the best way - but if you jb your phone, and are creative, I bet there is a way to tamper with it. However, since that would require work and is not an off the shelf option, I still think the time stamp method is the best option.
Having the timestamps saved everytime you background/exit the app would be necessary to recieve calls/etc.. and would also prevent simple clock tampering. It is unlikely that someone would be able to go to the lengths necessary when you could just hack your AF game, figure out the packets that upload ur ghost, and just hack the packet(s) that upload thus bypassing the need to actually play!!!
Another method is one that I think would be awesome and informative. Have a mode where you can watch the ghost play. The moves would be saved as you make a ghost (not video) and you could watch the actual ghost run. If people were able to watch some of my ghosts it would be hella obvious I was cheating.
Also, the 1 button audiohack is still working. It doesn't slow the game down as much, but on my iphone 3g, once the chain starts popping, I definately get a 10% slowdown or so.

It sure does. The two button slowed the game down a ton. But the 1-button slows it down just a bit - and sometimes is not noticable unless you have lots of action going on in the game. I am fairly sure it is different on the touch/iphone because the touch has a faster processor and less perhipals.
Try it yourself. Get a stack popping (weapon use whatever) and hold down just up or down (not both). I still get a 10% slowdown. This was the audiohack people were using before I found out about the two-button i am guessing.

Well, there was still the safari or other background lag hacks.
But in all fairness, I posted the one button audiohack many times, including in the original posts in early Feb.

Since it isn't really an "audiohack," I edited the thread title.
On-topic, I'd like to see all the exploits killed. I'm just not sure that it's possible!

hmm if they could do a system clock check that would probably be easiest and effective. i hope they come out with something soon maybe with a few crash fixes thrown in as well XD

I think there is a major problem with the timestamp method.
See the strategy is a must thread, pg7 for my summon video. The iPhone3g lags pretty bad when you *DONT* cheat - which may make it easier to play than the touch. Unless there is some other processor usage info - or adjustments of timestamps based on the expected lag (which is probably device dependent) then we are out of luck on this patch.
Of course I don't code for a living, so hopefully I am wrong! FWIW I was able to get a pretty good score on video. You decide if I played well enough to get on the leaderboard.

yeah about that leader board.. is it ever going to be reset ? Or are the cheaters just gonna stay up on the pedestal indefinitely ?
