This game has the great grondwork, and beginings of an awesome mmo.
here are a few ideas:
The only puzzle in this game at this point, mining resources, is the very base of your game, this is your currency, and you can turn your raw resources in to a bank, where you will get currency of the "realm"
before you start a game, you could pick a room, or "world" as some games like to call it, to move around in
the world of this game, would be made up of 4 or 5 realms, all with a different "Main" resource which is worth more in that realm. like the realm of the tree elves would pay the most money for the leaf resource which you mine.
Navigation, could be completely map based, and this way, you could create a huge world to explore, yet keep the file size of your game down.
when zoomed out, your screen would resemble a risk type board with each realm, each city, town, or realm you visit is labeled, the rest are concealed untill you discover them. As you zoom in to your location, your screen starts to look more reminiscent of the current one. your town has the standard mine, store, blacksmith, and tower. yet in different towns there are more or less different buildings that have other purposes, like a pawn shop where you can sell and buy used items. to travel from one town to the next, you could have a store, where when traded raw materials or money, gives you supplies. when you zoom out and select a neghboring town on the map, it tells you how many days supplies for travel you have, and how many you need. if you have the necisarry supplies, you would automaticly move from one town to another.
In this game, your character, while not shown roaming the world on your screen, could represent more of a wii avatar, where your weapons you have equipped, your clothes, your race, are all shown on a 3d figure of your character.
when you move to a town, you could be able to select a list of people, (other people playing on there iphones, touches) who are also in this town, by clicking on them, you can add them as a friend, chat with them, trade with them, or challenge them to a duel.
when you challenge a person to a duel, the moves and weapons you have bought and equipped on your person, show up on a moves screen. from here, combat could take a very pokamany feeling to it, which i think would suite it well.
these are a few suggestions for your game, no-matter which way you go though, i am sure it will be a great game, you have done great so far... keep up the good work.
