What are you guys using and why? When did you get your iPhone/iTouch and how? Do you have a 3G or an the 1ST Gen? If you have an iTouch how did you feel about the charge for the 2.0 release? If you have an old iPhone are you going to upgrade to 3G? If so why? Also, for those that have it hidden, where are you from and what do you do? Is your phone FROM work? FOR work? for fun ;D About me: Phone: 1st Generation iPHone Network: EDGE/WiFi (Normally on EDGE, even when wireless in range or at home - to save battery and never really need it to be blazing fast) 2.0 Release: I have an iPhone, but my girlfriend has an iTouch, she was fine having to pay (she upgraded to play this game). I would be fine paying as well and thing it is justifiable since most iPhone users pay a lot more. Upgrade: Not planning on getting a 3G one, just don't think it is worth it for a small speed increase, plus I have a lot of iPhone 1st gen cases. Location: I am from Seattle Phone Purpose: I use it for work/fun, not from work. I do use it a lot because all of my work involves the internet/computers.

iPod touch! 'Cause I'm not gonna pay like €30,00 a month just to get an iPhone (hmm maybe I will eventually) I got it like.. a week ago? 2?.. Anyway, I just went to a store and bought one. So no, I didn't order it at Apple. It really wasn't cool of Apple to make me pay.. But it's worth it if you look at the amount of apps, and the quality of some (Cough, AF, Cough) Oh, and I'm from The Netherlands (no, not Holland)

I'm also having an iPod Touch and I like it . "If you have an iTouch how did you feel about the charge for the 2.0 release?" Charge??? Everybody I know(except one person), and me downloaded it for free, with no problems ;D

I use the iPhone 3G, purchased on release date (same when I purchased my 1st gen iPhone (on release date)) I'm from Vancouver, WA - USA and work for a software/hardware point of sale company. I work for their development team primarily using an old, outdated, archaic development software called Dataflex.

iTouch 16gb. I have no need at all for a cell phone, so why get one?

iPhone 3g, upgraded from the first gen last friday. Are you in the UK or states? Did you just straight buy a new phone or did you get a discount for a trade-in?

I'm from the states. I just bought a new phone straight up and sold my old one to my brother in law. Got 250 for my first gen so I only had to pay 50 bucks to upgrade to the new model!

Same here. I put mine on Craigslist and between Saturday night after lunch and Sunday morning I had 16 emails of people dying for it. Crazy. $50 upgrade was nice.

It's amazing what people are willing to pay for a first gen iPhone...Now I'm kind of regretting selling mine, I probably could have gotten more on eBay for it. It's a nice gesture selling it to a family member and all I guess.
btw, I saw on eBay that 3g's are fetching as much as 1400 bucks LOCKED!!! I'm really regretting only buying one!

Here in Washington/Oregon they are making you activate in the store. You can't buy one and leave without it being activated.

That's how it was SUPPOSED to work here also. Due to high volumes of activations at once it was taking a freakin year so they just sold us the phones and told us to activate them at home. I shoulda added another line and cancelled it...the profit off of the phone would have more than made up for the $175 early cancellation fee. Oh well...

Ah yes. That's how it was here also on release date. I picked up mine later in the evening after I got off work, so they had that issue resolved.

From London baby. Or as near as makes no difference to you foreign types anyhoo (note to real cockneys, please don't beat me up, I am a wonderful person on the inside). I'm using an ipod touch 32 gb. Chose it because my old ipod died and I needed a replacement that was compatible with my audible.co.uk subscription and thought I'd go with the touch for the wifi use, the basic PDA-lite features and I like Mark Kermode's BBC 5 podcast so listening to that with out itunes downloading it first sweetened the deal. No way would I buy a UK iphone coz the call plans are just too restrictive, besides I'm quite happy with my phone and I don't really mind carrying around 2 devices. Plus it means I can listen to music on my phone whilst I play AF on my ipod, happy days. As for what I think about the 2.0 update: I felt sorry for the users who paid for the January update, they were ripped! But that's apple for you, they only love the $ kids! It really should have been a free update, but ho hum, what can you do. Remote and AF have made it feel worth the money so far I guess.
