ipod touch. The iPhone is too expensive(I have Nokia N80 anyways), lacks many features and is thicker than the ipod touch.

3g iphone... just got it... like it so far ! I'm on the same boat =-P I've never liked Ipods simply due to their restrictions. Having to use Itunes for everything was a bother, especially when I could get a simple MP3 player that does everything an Ipod does except scroll. However I've always been a tech addict, at Christmas I chose the LG Viewty over the Iphone because it had music capabilities plus a 5 megapixel camera. I got the iPhone 3G because of the added 3G functionality (one of the things the LG had over the iPhone) and of course it was not simply an iPod, it was a phone as well. So far I'm quite pleased with it, although the lack of being able to bluetooth songs and pictures was the biggest disappointment so far. But the quality of the build of the product, as well as the games (Aurora Feint being my most played so far) makes up for the lack of certain functionality. Great product so far!

Um I have an iPod Touch... It really is kind of annoying that we have to pay to get the firmware AND pay to get the apps (some of them) but I think it was worth it. I sent my iPod Nano in the washing machine so I HAD to buy a new one

iPhone 3G here. Expensive, but after spending 4 years with N6670... I suppose it's a good replacement.
Love it so far. It's so sleek and with all these great apps (esp games!) it's one of the best gadgets I've ever owned! And I love the free updates =P

iPod touch, 8gig 1st gen. I got it for my birthday for $375, Australian ($314 USD). The price for upgrade in my point of view is pretty pointless, seeing how iPhone users get it for free. But it's good because it gives me the opportunity to create an iTunes account, which downloads album artwork, plus the money left over from the gift card was enough to purchase some apps. The new iPod touch is very annoying. I mean, theres not much difference thats useful (Jesus, who the hell needs Nike support?!), but god! The in-built speaker makes me angry.. It would have been so useful.
Stuff the speaker, apart from my camera, my iPod touch is the best thing in the world I own ;D

I got my touch as a refurb from apple about a month ago and I looooove it. I just couldn't bring myself to get the iphone due to that pricy service contract. I am amazed and so in love with it. I brought it on my honeymoon and it was so convenient. I had tunes for a 12 hour flight and it helped us find our way around Amsterdam with the gps. I made flight upgrades and taxi reservations and was able to log in to my university to keep up with my classes. Pretty nice, since I don't have a laptop but I'm still connected. It was supposed to come with the upgrade but I had to pay anyway grr. I just found AF from an ad on a mmorgp site and had to try it. Very fun I've been wanting a new twist on bejeweled. Anyway I bought it for fun and it's turned out to be useful. If I do upgrade I'll give this one to my hubby the neo-Luddite who has been looking longingly at it.
I'm in southern California. Can't wait until this goes massive!

What are you guys using and why? ipod touch 16 gb, at that time i was using verizon and couldn't get an iphone i needed something to play during 9 hours during a flight from California to Lima. When did you get your iPhone/iTouch and how? 19 december. Do you have a 3G or an the 1ST Gen? ipod touch
If you have an iTouch how did you feel about the charge for the 2.0 release? when apple was charging $19.99 for the january upgrade just a month later after i bought the ipod,i just thought they were crazy I didn't buy it, and thanks God ( well, apple) that 2.0 was only $10. although still a little expensive, i prefer to pay 10, than 20 dollars.
If you have an old iPhone are you going to upgrade to 3G? If so why? i will buy an iphone after christmas
Also, for those that have it hidden, where are you from and what do you do? Peru, but I'm studying in US.
Is your phone FROM work? FOR work? for fun ipod, for fun and as way to keep everything organized ( i love iCal)
