Does anyone want to share tips on how to get more combos? So far I just take the first move I see and any combos are only by chance. I also pretty much play without flipping, I played for 2 days before I even knew you could flip.

If you can move blocks together while the others are still falling (i.e. really quick!), it will give you combos. I'm thinking this should be much easier once the update comes out, as there are specific tools that let you slow down for that purpose.

Fastest way to get crystals:
1. Play Stationary (do not flip the screen) 2. Put any two colors together when nothing else to do for organization 3. Look for 3 essences on one row and combine 4. Look for 3 essences in one column and combine 5. Keep the screen 75% - 90% filled with pieces, this allows for more drops/room to move pieces 6. Create empty columns to drop pieces down and combine them on rows 7. Go FAST FAST FAST 8. Never stop moving your fingers, make sure to avoid "blast areas" (pieces you just put together) as you cannot move pieces through them 9. Try to get as many combos in a row, this will get you multipliers and much faster resource/crystal collection rate 10. Rock out to some good music 11. Rinse and repeat (yes you have to farm)
After this you should be maxxed ;D

Getting started on combos is a lot easier if you only have to make one move to clear a set of blocks, so taking a little time to set things up helps. Certain moves like clearing more than 4 blocks and causing a chain reaction by creating a gravity match will give you a little extra time to act.

yeah, setting up gravity moves is a very improtant skill if you are looking to use the stationary method. I rely on gravity drops to slow down and create big time combos. Without mastering this move it might not be worth playing "stationary"

I keep reading about being maxed, how will I know when I am? You will be maxxed when you have purchased every blueprint in the game. Each blue print set (for level 8) costs about 25,000 crystals There are six blue prints so that is about 150,000 crystals to get maximum in every category, give or take +/- 10,000. Take into consideration 6x magic books too.. I forget how much those were. When the new tools come into play it should be a lot easier to farm for crystals.

If you're going to play stationary, I think it is best to play sideways. That way you can take advantage of any empty space to the right (assume the home button is on the left). You have more space in the direction you can actually move the pieces. As far as combos, you can use aardWolf's hint (hopefully this will make it past the update. It almost seems like it was accidental). Other than that, remember that whenever you move one piece, you also move another one: the one you are switching it with. Slowing down to think about combos may become more beneficial after the update and the tools work.
