Hello! Probably one of the older players at 50+ *lol* Looking forward to the updates... AF is becoming one of my favourite strategy-style games. Agree with others on the awesome music scores.
p.s. Thanks for a _very_ helpful resource board, too.
ETA: This game is exceptionally well developed for only 10-weeks production. *knock on wood* no crashes or wiggies.

Hello all! This community sure is building up... Should be great as AF unfolds as MMO.
I'm Alex, a semi-nomadic French-speaking ethnographer from Montreal. My avatar's Plon (was listening to a Librivox reading and one of the characters was Pon). "Enkerli" (my last name) is my username pretty much anywhere else. Never really been a gamer. Or, actually, I'm more typical of casual gamers. Played a lot of Solitaire Demon on PalmOS (SolFree). Started playing some Web apps game on my iPod touch (only got one a few weeks ago, after lusting over it for quite a while).
AFtB really fits my needs, at this point. The main puzzle is both challenging enough and doable enough to fit with what psychologist Mihály Csíkszentmihályi's notion of "flow" (a defining feature of optimal experiences). What's more, and rather surprising, is that these forums are quite friendly in the sense that people are actually being quite nice. No "newbie smacking," no trolling, no teasing, no bragging... It might be because the game was only released a few days ago and there isn't that much difference between "new newbies" and more experienced players (though some gamers probably have an advantage over others).
Yeah, as you can notice, I tend to over-analyze everything. It's part of the way I have fun in life.
Can't wait to find out more about the community features.
