Thanks for the tip off nbnb,
So that means you *could* smite someone 24 times in a day

i'm not too sure, but from my experience with other forums karma doesnt do anything... like if you think a guys an idiot you can smite him, or vice versa, but other than looking bad with like -10 karma it doesnt affect your account

Not only should a low karma raise a red flag for the admins, but also someone who has been going around smiting a lot. I guess the hour wait would help a little with this. There's no way for anyone to tell who exalted/smited (smate?) them, thought I'm not so sure that would be such a good idea anyway.

I don't think you should be able to smite a person more than once. It would mean that idiots could come on here and just smite everyone. If we could have a system that alowed the admins to see who had the lowest karma and could then see why, a sort of feedback.

You know, I try to be helpful... I'm always respectful of other people, but occasionally my Karma goes negative. It's odd... :-(
I wish there was a comment field that let a person say why they smited you.

It would be good to have my suggested feedback system, it would be better if the negative karma only counted if it was a legitimate reason.

what is exalt/smite and how to do this? If you read the first few posts in this thread it is explained. If not, here it is again: Exalt - Gives that person 1 point of karma Smite - Subtracts 1 point of karma There is a 1 hour cooldown on Exalting/Smiting

There should be some kind of "rules" on Karma. For instance, just because you don't agree with a point someone is making doesn't mean you should smite them.
Smiting should be reserved for when someone is rude, disrespectful, or trolling.
Exalting should be used when you find a post insightful or helpful (or incredibly funny).
