So Macenstein wrote an article insinuating that AF was Spyware and has an interview with Danielle

Macbytes, via Macrumors, then posted a small fluff piece titled "Is Aurora Feint the iPhones first Spyware?" Sadly, they purposefully wrote a description that paints AF in a bad light:
"Aurora Feint creates a copy of all the e-mail addresses and phone numbers in your contacts list, and stores them in a “secret” directory on your iPhone This in an of itself is a bit suspect, but alarm bells really began to go off when someone noticed that AF was sending that information to the Aurora Feint servers as well."

Someone responded to the article with this:
"Wow, no wonder they gave away this app.
If they were upfront about it, maybe I'd trust them. But to do it secretly? I smell a crook.
Deleting now."
Followed by another person saying:
" liked the game but as of right now, it's history."
---------
This sent me into a frenzy and ended up writing this:
"That's pretty sad, Clearly you didn't even read the article that was linked.
What's sadder is that the headline for this is going to have tons of people doing the Exact Same Thing.
So let's be clear on what this article is about:
AF is technically an MMO, There is a community section within the inventory screen. This is used so that you and 3 friends can form a Party which will become a bigger part of the game once more patches come out.
If you don't fill this area out, it consists of your phone number and email, NOTHING WILL BE SENT
The text clearly states that submitting the info will let AF tell you if any of your friends have accounts... Where would you think that information comes from? Divination? Telepathy?? Miss Cleo??? The information has to come from somewhere
An Example:
Johnny Appleseed downloads AF. He inputs his phone number and email, it is uploaded onto the AF server, and finds no friends on AF... poor Johnny.
A few days later I download AF. I input my info, it's uploaded to the servers, and I'm told Johnny is on AF. The app looks through your contacts and cross references it with user data to create a buddy list of your contacts.
There was nothing cryptic about what they were doing. If you want to fault them for anything it would be the inability to take your info off of their server, a problem which was fixed in their first update which was submitted awhile ago and is only waiting for apple to publish it.
Considering this is the first game on the app store that I know of which allows us to play with real friends. Every other app I have requires you to play over local wifi.
I honestly think they should be commended for the amazing work they are doing (for FREE) and for seeing a problem and taking care of it well before this article came out. If Apple could publish updates faster that article wouldn't even be relevant "

I'm posting this here because I TRULY hope no one here reads or is told about this article and ends up avoiding AF. This is an amazing game with an equally amazing community and deserves all the support it can get
