Id say start small....
make the next update cost .99 most if not all the people here would agree that this game is at least worth .99 cents.
Edit: I take that back....only start chargeing when you have a complete product....take no offense, because the potential is there, but a buggy app really should be free.

I don't understand why the game shouldn't be payed by adds. The way I see it, the game could stay free, and the deva would get money. And, the devs could release a paid version which wouldn't have ads. In addition, with ads, you would get 100% of the revenue ( with the paid version you would only get 70%). Also, no matter how good the beginning is, more people would get the expansions if they were free.
P.S: a great, addicting game. I believe you should get money for it.

I would pay, but it'd be nice if kept free.

I agree with the donation thing. $5 for donation and free.

tell you the truth, we're lucky that it's stayed free as long as it has. most free apps that have seen instant success 1/100 as much as this has have already charged at least 2.99 for it.

Personally, I really like this game, and I would like for it to continue evolving. For that to be realistic though, the developers need to be able to benefit from their hard work. [snip] This is pretty much what I was thinking as well. Danielle and Jason have clearly put a lot of time and effort into this project; I'd love to see them continue, but I also think they should see real benefit at some point. There are probably plenty of ways for that to happen though; hopefully one can be found that gives them the most benefit while keeping as many of us lucky players going as possible.

Like I said, your first hit is free. Then you must pay. I would have no problem with that. Let the peasants revolt, if they want to play, they can pay!

Aurora Feint: The crack-like substance for your iPhone. First taste is free!
Seriously, I'd buy Danielle & Jason coffee and bagels for an entire month in order to repay them for the fun I've already had playing this game.

Decided to make an account.
Here's part of what I was getting at before, and maybe I'm beating a dead horse. But donationware would mean, if I'm getting this right, that if you love the game, you can donate to the developers directly instead of Apple taking a 30% bite out of your sale. Do they deserve compensated for their amazing work? Definitely.
Personally I'm opposed to the idea of charging for the app or expansions. I feel that it's of an amazing caliber, and for the most part well coded, besides some bugs. Reason to back it up? None really. Maybe I'm just a cheap-ass, maybe I've used Linux too long.
;D Or if anything keep the cost low.

This app is of great quality, and I agree with supporting the developers. Although, I believe that the game's popularity would not have been as great if their was a cost to download. -- To the developers: you should open an account on pay pal for donations. -- And, let's game on!

How come some people are shown as guest? How can they be guest and post?

That's off topic but I assume at the beginning of the board's creation they didn't deselect guests posting. At that time I did not have an account so I simply posted as a guest.
I now have one.
