<--- female with a female character. I've always been a gamer (and a girl, for that matter), and it's always amused me to see how much of a novelty we females are in the gameworld. Dude! I'm totally a top poster! -struts- Read my "35" and weep, boys! It's weird, but you remind me of an old high school friend. She's in her early 30's and actually used the nickname luthienangel at one point. She's living in Fort Lauderdale though...

Looks like male wins. Since there are no mods, admins, please close this thread.

Should've set a vote time limit. I myself learned the hard way that polls can't be modified.

Hmm... I wonder how many people were actually male and voted female Anyway, seeing this poll is kind of dead, do you want me to close it?

I say keep it open. If the thread remains active, it can be a dynamic visualization of who is playing.

Very true. Most of my female friends don't really understand the "gamer" thing...but my male friends of the gaming persuasion think it's awesome, so it all works out! My gamer bf is amazed by my addiction to AF...he always asks, with disdain in his voice, "Are you playing that game again!"& NO I won't let him play...except when I was stuck on Black Nothingness lol. Sad part is he bought me the iPhone. Haha

Well I can't get my bf or any guys I know to play this. They are all gamers but feel this is too bejeweled style for them, oh well there the ones missing out

Ladies do seem a rarity in this realm. Even D&D or Gurps rarely appeal to women (I love playing both but it is difficult to find the time to play). Maybe it depends on who your friends are when you're younger or which 'clique' you belonged to. I grew up with more male friends than female (men seem to be more forgiving and less catty). I was not in the popular groups - probably even veering towards the 'geeks' or the ones who listened to The Cure. Gaming is fun - you can pretend to be a stupid, insanely strong character and open doors simply by touching them, but can't spell your own name (my favorite). You can be a wizard, a theif, an orc, elf. You be someone else for a while. Hmm.. somehow I think I've gone off on a tangent. Anyway, for what it's worth, I think that females can be just as good as males for rpg games.
