I know I'm going to sound like such a noob. But hey, I kind of am. ----- What is Karma? What is it for? And, what does it do? -- Thanks for the info, it is greatly appreciated!

Karma is a ranking system for users to award other users points for being of value to the community. ie. I wrote something which was very helpful to many users, therefore they would exalt me, giving me 1 karma.
+1 for asking, don't ever feel like a noob...ask as many questions as you'd like. There's many knowledgeable users on this forum who can help you out with any question you might have.

macrocker
Seems there is a limited amount of Karma you can hand out. Until min ago I had a link to exalt/smite below (sorry - this is from memory) the Karma counter of users.
I did one exalt earlier for the FAQ, one for you 10 min ago (to test but also thanks for answers to my questions) and it seems now I'm out of Karma to give away. I have a new account and limited posts. So maybe you just need to wait. Makes some sense that you can't hand out as much as you like.
Someone else more knowledgeable how/if it regenerates.
Thanks
Thod
Macrocker - an update - approx. 1 1/2 hours later I was able to hand out Karma again. I think to remember I could even hand out some to you again / aka a person have given some before. The moment I handed out some new Karma (there were others more deserving - one to you is enough ;D) the link disappeared again. Apart of time - it could be the log in status. I did log out / restarted my browser inbetween. So maybe log out from time to time - don't have yourself be logged in permanently. I hope this helps.

hey guys, karma and smiting has an hour cooldown (cheesy choice of words, i know) so after you use it you must wait 1 whole hour until you can use it again!

I guess it's their style of "Time Out." -- "Now sit there and think of what you did! Did they really deserve to be exalted or simted?" --

Mcrocker, alexander
Yep - seems I got smited twice today. I was proud when I started the day with positive Karma.
Shouldn't mention this - might invite more smites ...

raun60: Exalt = +1 karma. Smite = -1 Karma. And, don't worry about asking questions. The dumb question is the one that is not asked. Or, at least that what my teachers would say. And, here goes your first karma point. jacobtgaines: you make a great point! What is karma, but a part of imagination. +1 karma for a making a good point, now we just need to wait an hour to be able to give. *having Karma withdrawals*
