1. Restart your iPhone. Press and hold the sleep/wake button until it shuts off. Do the same thing again until it turns on again.
2. Open up iPod application. Play a song. Then go to Home Screen and open Aurora Feint again.
3. Connect your phone to your computer. Let it sync and backup. In iPhone options, go to Applications tab, and uncheck Aurora Feint from the list. Sync the iPhone again. Restart your iPhone. Then sync your iPhone again with Aurora Feint checked on the list.
The clash with playing a song is interesting since the first load of Aurora Feint plays an audio clip. But I'm sure that I didn't play any audio clip other than the automatic playing of the loading clip and I still had the not starting problem.

I'm having the same problems. I had leveled up quite a lot today, bought everything up to a rank of at least 1, and had hundreds of crystals.
When I got home, I had the crash bug. I followed instructions as above, and now—well, see my signature.
I'm also not able to level up at all. I played the first level through until the bar was full, went to the store…couldn't buy anything. When I went back into the mine I got the "you should level up, go buy stuff or keep mining?" dialogue, and when I went to mine the level bar was already full and didn't change when I mined stuff.
If I lose my character progress, that's one thing. I can make it back in a couple hours. But I can only do that if I get the ability to level back. Any tips?

So I tried reinstalling, then opening the game to play without wifi on, so it wouldn't check my character on the server. I was able to level up and buy just fine that way. So I quit and turned wifi on and started again...and crashed on start. Playing music while starting doesn't help.
Tried reinstalling again, kept wifi on this time. Though it loaded my character from the server, still getting the no-level-up behavior, and a crash when I exit and reload.
Whatever is going on, I hope you fix it soon.
I don't know if it makes any difference, but the crashing started right after I updated my contacts and synced.
I followed the instructions to send in a crash log (http://aurorafeint.proboards100.com/index.cgi?board=crash&action=display&thread=523), along with a detailed account of how I'd reinstalled and prevented syncing. I sent this in a few days ago and got no response. It is hard to know whether they are in diagnosis or coding mode on this problem.
