So, I got the update and have been playing...and I had a lot going on and was "popping" many blocks at a time [you caught me, I was "swirling"] then all the blocks just disappeared and the background turned grey (instead of the normal black). I wasn't stuck, I could press the arrow and choose to Stop Mining and restart just fine. But thought I'd put in a note in case no one else has seen this.

Hmmm...never seen that before. My theory is that since your experience bar was all the way to the right you were about to level up and it got stuck I guess.

no, I've been maxed out a good while. It pops up a message when I first start mining. You can see by the count at the top I had been mining for a while.

Ok, I guess I'm the only one. *sigh*. Must have just been a glitch.

Ok, I guess I'm the only one. *sigh*. Must have just been a glitch. It's like an older high speed Internet commercial they used to show locally on TV here. *Beeeeep* - You've reached the end of the Internet. :-)

My guess is that it was a memory issue. If you look at the screen shot the blocks are not the only thing missing, the image that is normally behind the blocks is also missing.
The iPhone has strict memory constraints on applications and the amount of memory that we can use fluctuates based on what else is running. So my guess is that it is a glitch due to low memory.
