For the record, I'm not a potty mouth. I believe in well constructed, thought provoking writing that doesn't stoop to the lowest common denominator of trash talk and chat speak. What exactly were you trying to say? I got lost in the many adjectives and synonyms.

I just wanted it to be clear that the whole reason I brought this subject up, was not so that I could start tagging the forums with filth.

What bugs me is that the filters are too stupid to know that words like assumption, assassinate, and cocktail are not obscene.

That's part of my point too. If someone wants to be obscene, with no other objective, they'll find a way.

asmeurer: The word filters have an option 'Detect Whole Words'. What it means is if the option is turned off, as long as it spots an obscenity, it will filter it (thus why assumption becomes I agreeumption and cocktail becomes thingytail). If it is turned on, the filter will only detect obscenities in their entire form, so if you type assumption, the filter won't count it). That function has been turned on. theconfuzed1: I agree. For example, there are various ways to spell something to get around a filter.

Word filters create filter dodging, which is annoying to look at, and forces those who would rather remain in their blissfully unaware world to see that the emporer wears no clothes.
With optional filters, that can be aleviated.

I believe the program is completely independent of whatever system you happen to be running. Otherwise, I'm sure they would have listed system requirements for the beta. Also, nice job with the word filter. Any chance of making it a user-selectable option? Just to explain what this program does, it allows the developers to embed the UDID of a phone into an application and that build of the application will only work on that UDID.... they then send this new version to the Tester and they install via iTunes...

Well, yeah, but that wasn't the question. The question was whether or not an Intel Mac is required. That was my long answer for, "No."

None for me. I assume they would post something here once they have decided on the testers. It wouldn't be the first delay we've seen here.
