I'm a huge fan of Apple, and I love their products, but their recent attitude about certain things has become, shall I say... an irritant. It lead me to finally decide to jailbreak a few days ago. Honestly, there are two things that I really wanted, that Apple could have allowed, that would have given me no reason to do so--Scrobble, and NES. . I am now happily jailbroken, scrobbling over the air, and playing Super Mario Brothers in my down time.

I love the iPod series myself, I have an iPod Mini, iPod Touch and an iPhone.
Wait?!? You're playing NES on yours? I must know how!
*Impatiently waits for Apple to release update*

If you're a Mac user, you can read about jailbreaking (and installing NES and game ROMs) at hackthatphone.com. However, if you break something, it's on you. If you're not comfortable with that, stay away from it. If you do choose to jailbreak, I recommend staying with the stock boot logo. If your device ever gets stuck at boot, a custom boot logo is an automatic void of warranty! If you're a Windows user, Google "Quickpwn." Remember it's fun, and as long as you can follow directions, it's relatively safe, but it's not for the [Aurora] feint of heart.

Regardless of where your device gets stuck, if you have to take it back to apple, regardless of whether you changed the boot logo or not, a quick inspection of the firmware by apple will show that its not official apple firmware, and its warranty void. Don't get me wrong here as I also have a phone which I jailbroke but if your phone dies while jailbroken, apple will return it to you unfixed. As theconfuzed1 said ... its at your own risk!

Sure. That's true. Sometimes, however, you can get a genius to replace your phone in the store. In that case, I don't think that they have the technical capability of checking your firmware.

Confusingly, the App Store just informed me of an update (version 1.0.1.0) Where the text stats it provides massive frame rate improvements and Tons of bug and crash fixes. Not sure how to check what version I am currently running but as I have been waiting for the latest update I have been checking regularly and this is the first time in a long time that an update has been available..... I'll update and see what happens

Sigh, going back to update the app now tells me all apps up to date! All I did was exit to turn on WiFi and then go back. Ah well, back to waiting for the REAL update.

Ok ... problem already. When I start the game on my iTouch, I got a message box saying:
Buy Challenges Continue Mining
Selecting "Buy Challenges" takes me into mining - not buying challenges. This is the same issue I had before I upgraded assuming the game didn't crash - but hey at least this version didn't crash when I first started the game.
So I'm trying this. I'm going to sync the update over to my MBP, delete AF from my iTouch, and then reinstall it ... and cross my fingers.

App Store is definitely mixed up. Update reappeared and was listed as 1..0.1.1 with a Sept date on main page, but when you taped to go to the page for more info it was back to 1.0.1.0 with the August date. Loaded it anyway and while I still do not know how to see what version is on my iPhone, this new version is a LOT faster I like it Can still swipe but do not seem to get multipliers but too early to tell exactly what has changed

Ok ... delete and reinstall seemed to work. I was finally able to complete some stuff and level up and no crashes. All goodness !!!
You can check your version of AF using iTunes. Click on the Applications link under your Library and then do a right-mouse-click and "Get Info". My info is showing 1.0.1.1. Just noticed the upper right hand corner of the Icon isn't filled in though. So only doing a "Get Info" will tell you what version you have installed.
