There was a $1000 app that just said "I'm rich". Apple removed it. (Link anyone?)

Lol, For those who didn't get it, the I'm Rich app, at $999.99, the cap for app prices, was exactly that: you're rich. About 8 or so people dropped a grand on basically an app that showed a picture of a glowing red ruby. Apple refunded the money of two who purchased it as a prank. I guess the other six are out of luck, since the dev didn't violate any rules. Here's a link. latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2008/08/iphone-i-am-ric.html

Oh, the insanity. A lot of developers are trying to run up their popularity by making it free first and getting a lot of stars for a free app, then charging more than it's worth, but people see the 4 stars are whatever and try it out for $1.99.
and how may apps are trying to charge over $5 for what Aurora Feint does for free, sheesh.
Well, I got a kick out of the cow bell app. I loved that sketch on Saturday Night Live, but I'm ready to get rid of it now. I usually skip the lame ones like the one where you just hold down a "button" for as long as you can.

Lol...the flashlight app industry has started to get competitive...many flashlight apps now include a built-in strobe light function As for lamest apps...pretty much every single demo app, or everything ending in 'Lite', 'Free', or 'Demo' Thanks, but three crappy levels, solvable in 10 seconds, isn't enough to convince me to spend $10 on the full version, especially when the free version is annoying the heck out of me with constant banners to buy the full version and every button I tap gets a button to pop up saying 'Please buy the full version to access this feature.' I'd agree with you, but sometimes those 'Lite' apps can be the best choice when you want to try it out first ;D But still sometimes those 'Lite' app games may be so badly developed that you can even reach the last demo level because you would have deleted it in disgust

Yeah, it's nice that many apps do have lite versions for that very reason. I have come across a few good ones, though, like subway. An as long as we're being generic, any paid app that does the same thing as a free one, especially if it does it worse.
