So, I've updated to 1.1 and logged in - my stats are recovered but I'm Enlightened Level 1 (should be level 35)... any way to correct this problem? I'm hesitant to start playing the game againf or fear of screwing things up!
Well, I think I figured out your and chris' problem. The way your level is displayed by the sig script and on your device is different. There are various levels, craftsman, journeyman, enlightened, etc... Each one of those has 5 levels (0-4 iirc) So you don't really have a bug so much as a feature.
Perhaps someone will come up with a way to make this more clear somehow.
interesting. So nowhere except the sig does the "other" level show up? I'm hestitant to believe this only because I've been playing quite a lot since I've upgraded, and I've never moved from enlightened 1. Is there anything that discusses these levels, what they mean and how to get them?
Re: Enlightened Levels The game currently 'ends' at the enlightened level rank. Thus, if you get to Enlightened 4, instead of going on to 'Next Rank Level, Level 1', you would loop back to Enlightened Level 1.
Basically what happens is this in terms of levels. This is for the Beginning by the way. There are "main" categories [Enlightened, Novice, Apprentice, etc.]. Then there are sub-categories [Level 1, Level 2, etc.]. So if you put it in numbers, it's like 1-0, 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 2-0, 2-1, etc. I think Enlightened is "7." So once you get to Enlightened, it goes 7-0, 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, 7-4, 7-0, 7-1...
okaiji: Could you give us any more details? I'm pretty sure it's not lost, just you are unable to access it.
I'm on 1.2.2. and have tried the above advice (the server keeps timing out and I've been unable to get beyond that part).
I've had a few problems with this game since I installed it, but none annoying enough to try to fix myself. At least, until today. No matter what I did, a friend I'd added remained unverified, and according to other users on the forum, deleting and reinstalling the app might help, so I tried it. Everything was great until I started the newly reinstalled app. Everything synced properly, but the app froze on the map, so I closed it. As soon as I restarted it, the map would flash on the screen with the right areas flashing on the map, but the "Name your Character" screen returned. I've done this about five times now, deleting and reinstalling, and the same thing happens. I'm frustrated enough to give up on the app now, because I'm unwilling to have to recreate my character every few days.
Once this works again, though, it's a darn (whoops) good game and I'll be coming back to it.
Still, for the record, here's one of the other annoying problems I had:
I verified my account on the website, having created the account when I initially installed the app on my iPhone. Yet, the stats were rather different. In the app, I was a 0 level Craftsman, but on the website, I was a 25 level Craftsman. Perhaps this is where my problems stem from?
I just upgraded to arena, I'm hoping I won't regret it for long. I have done the account verification, reset the password, signature, etc, etc, etc. I deleted the ap and loaded it back on and now it says my username and password do not match, even though I used just an instant before to verify it on your website. WTF IS GOING ON?!!!!!! please help! i would like to play the game I just spent money on
Ok, so I downloaded the most recent update of AF: The Beginning, hoping it would fix the crash problems and the syncing problems that kept me from progressing in the game or syncing my account to the server. Wrong. Instead, it wouldn't recognize the character and password I'd created, and started a new game. I tried the sig generator listed at the beginning of this thread, but got a page error. So not only can I not play my character on the free version of the game, I can't *transfer* that character to the paid version that I bought. This is getting a little old, folks.
