I've finally got quite adept at creating and maintaining long chains as described in the "stategy" thread on these boards.
However -- and increasingly of late -- I'm bumping into an annoying glitch: the chain will suddenly reset for no apparent reason.
(I know chains reset if you wait too long before joining the next series of blocks, or if you're in the middle of turning your phone when they fall -- this is a separate case.)
I'll get to x2, x3, and then (without moving the phone) the next set of blocks will be back to (x1), then x2.
It also happens (sometimes with bigger multipliers) when I have a horizontal bar of blocks waiting to explode, which will drop one block on the two vertical ones below -- and I've seen it happen when I was extra sure that I was not moving.
I cannot reproduce it. I'm playing The Beginning.
My apologies in advance if this isn't a bug but is me doing something wrong (if it is, I have really no clue).

Sounds like the good ol' chain bug to me. There is already a thread on this. Thankfully the new rule system like arena uses has this bug come up much more rarely. I think it used to hit about 1 in 75 chains in the original beginning and now in arena it is more like 1 in 1000. In arena I think there is a special setup that causes it, but I would need to videotape it to find out since it happens so fast.
