:(My ipod locked when I tried to exit the game. After getting back in, just hitting the home button a few times, the game starts back up, and I have no account. This makes me sad Playing on an ipod touch, with no network connection currently.

it shouldnt matter... Ill look into it. The data is saved locally and remotely. This should not occur.

It is known that the game updates to the server at critical times ie. at level, when you leave/enter the mine, go to the blacksmith ect.
It is recommended that you try to play on a network when you can so that you can update the servers with your character information. Your game must have crashed before the local file was able to update to the server. Have you waited for the servers to update after your crash? You might have lost the data, but this is a risk currently with version 1.0. Everything should be fixed and working well when Apple checks and allows us to download 1.0.0.1.
Hopefully you recovered what you lost, if not sorry and *try* to stay internet connected to avoid this in the future.

Thanks for the tip, but I am a touch user, so staying online is only possible at home or a few other locations. Only playing this at those times would be a bummer. I'm just waiting for the update to start playing again.

;D It seems that my account restored from the server last night. I don't know why it hadn't worked before then, but I'm back baby!

AF saves the game periodically to your iPhone and if you're connected to the Internet, it syncs with the server. So the game probably started from the checkpoint on your phone, then the next time it connected with the server, it detected a newer save file and used that one.
