So my girlfriend and I have both been playing this game addictively since we discovered it yesterday. What an amazing game!
We have found each other in the community to compare scores, but now my girlfriend's iPhone has lost her account. When she starts the game, it says checking for account on server, then goes to the create account page. When she created an account with the same name, she went back to level one.
Is there any way to recover her account, as it still shows on my friends list when I refresh friend data.
Please let me know what information you need to look into this further. Her account name is Cptnruthless

mtrayn01 I just took a look at our account records. I found her account but it looks like it is indeed level 1. I'm a little confused as to what happened! If her phone/ipod was on an internet connection and created an account when she first played, it should have saved her data. I see you have the community data set up for that account, so you should see her current level 1 account in your friends list (if you refresh). If you delete the application and it hasn't connected to the internet, your data will be lost. Perhaps you restored the device or uninstalled the application? If you have any more info about what may have happened, please share and I'll try to debug it some more. Sorry for the trouble. But thanks for playing!

I just tried to refresh my friends data, and it reports failed. It shows what must be old data saying she is level 2. Before the game crashed, she was level 4. At what point does the current user level get uploaded to your central server?
Basically, she pressed the home button on her iphone mid-game, and when trying to restart, the game kept crashing at the screen saying may take 30 seconds. She performed a shut down (power and home key for a few seconds then swipe for power off) and after testarting, the game loaded but could not locate an account on the server.

The stats get pushed to our central server when "things of note" happen. From what you are saying it doesn't seem like the data should have been lost. I'm really bummed for you and hope this doesn't happen again in the future. Let us know if it happens again, we may have been having a hiccup in our system or something that we don't know about.
Thanks

Something that I noticed, unless I am much mistaken... Save files are NOT uploaded to a server (unless other people's identical app acts differently). They are saved to the application preferences within the iPhone/iPod touch. I know/think this because I have been playing Aurora Feint very frequently since I downloaded it (awesome game , but I have absolutely no Wi-Fi to my iPod and the saves are still intact. Actually, while I was typing this, I had a thought. Does the app automatically decide where to store the save based on if there is a connection or not? If it does, that would explain a lot, and prove my previous theory wrong.

It saves it in both places. Locally and Remotely. Always Locally, remotely when it has access! If you have not connected to the web do so before you try to remove the application if you think you will want your data back! Hope that clears things up.

discordia: We have you in our system. I have you listed as level 9. If you uninstalled and reinstalled the game from your device, and its having problems connecting to our servers to restore the data then you will see this problem. Try unintalling and reinstalling (without syncing the data) and make sure that when you start the game you are connected to a good wi-fi network and let us know if the problem persists. One more silly question.... You are using the same device you made the account with right?

@danielle Yes, it is the same device. I deinstalled it on the iPod with the little "x" and reinstalled it via the appstore on the iPod. Did you mean that by reinstalling without syncing the data?
I stille get the new Account screen...
