First off: Amazing Game.
Got a bug that may or may not be easy to plug. In the mining game, slide up resources (double finger) until you have about 3-5 rows full. Then, just randomly and quickly tap and slide your finger back and forth across the blocks without any real method or system. If you have enough rows you'll quickly find random matches and combos.
This bug allows players to level up quickly and get combos and chains without having to think.
One possible fix:
Currently, when you slide a block into possible match it just completes that match and harvests the resources. Instead, allow a player to slide a block past a possible match and only clear the resources if the player picks up a block and releases it in the specific spot where the match would be made.
If this isn't a clear explanation, I apologize.

This is a pretty clear explanation. Enough to where I understand it.
I don't know how they would fix it other than with "more random" block placement.

greenplastik,
That's true, that is one way to play the game, but it's just not as fun. Also, when you're in panic mode at the higher difficulties (6 or less seconds per new row, it's a kinda-repeatable v1.0 bug), mindless playing doesn't really work.
About the auto-matching -- I think it adds some extra challenge to the game, knowing you have to be careful of how you set things up or else you'll set off the blocks. I'm no programmer but maybe putting in your fix could make combo setups more difficult, like if you slide a block too far past a target zone. The way it is now, I can just make a short swipe left or right and I can be pretty sure the move will work.

mav,
I like the idea of having the sensitivity scale to the difficulty level. One possible fix. And I know it wouldn't be as much fun just mindlessly playing, but it's a bug either way. It shouldn't be an option. Think of other games. If you can do well in most other video games without paying any attention to the screen, something is wrong.
If these folks made this good a game, I'm pretty sure they can come up with a solution.

Yeah, letting blocks slide instead of just always making them stick wouldn't be that bad...

It is already hard to line some blocks up as it is. Are we sure that we want to give up the ability to have them matched together for us? Realize that the time to explode blocks would also be increased because of this change.
