Update, Lost Character, new character stuck at 0

After doing an update I lost all of my character settings. I though that maybe this was done on purpose so I reluctantly recreated my character. For some reason I could not capitalize the first letter of my name, but i was excited to play the update so charged forward anyway. After playing for about 30 minutes I had leveled up 7 or 8 skills. I went to the store to buy the Blue Prints and Magic Books. I bought all of the ones that were available, and went to the Smith to make my blue prints. I made one, and then I tried to make another one, but they were all greyed out. So I left the Smith and went to the Tower to learn some magic. All but one of the books was greyed out and unselectable. So I made the one that I could. When I was done, one more of them was available to be learned/made/whatever, so I did that one too. When I was done with the second one however the last two were greyed out.
So I figure, I'll play some more and come back to them later. I play some more and get up to level 12 on the little difficulty slider. I go back to the store and buy all of the Blue Prints and Magic books available and head back to the Smith. All of them are greyed out, then I head to the Tower and like wise all of them are greyed out.

So I decide, "I don't like my characters name being in lower case anyway, and I uninstall the game and reinstall to see if that resets my character."
I uninstall, then reinstall, and restart. I get the intro video, then it goes directly to the map, and then to the Mines and starts the tutorial. I run through it and gather 106 crystals and instead of taking me to the level up screen, it takes me directly to the store where i'm unable to buy anything.

I head to the Smith and the Tower and both force me back to the Store, where of courses I can't buy anything. So I head to the mines and it tells me that I can't level until I buy something.

It would be nice to have my PRE-Upgrade character back, buuuut, at this point I would be happy to just have my account totally reset so that I can play again...

Okay, so I found the option that lets you reset your levels. But when I try to change my characters I cannot make any of the characters UPPER case. The shift key seems to be disables. Anyone else having this problem?

I only downloaded the game after the update, and never could use shift. After reinstalling my game because it wouldn't load, my character won't level up, can't buy blueprints or magic books. Only lets me use the mine untill it tells me that i can't level up untill i complete challenges, which it won't let me buy.....
