for me it has to either be a Universal messenger program with push notification or an alarm clock that allows us to wake up to ipod music instead of just alarms/ringtones. What are you guys looking forward to? (besides af updates and new game versions)

oh yeah! I completely forgot that one! How stupid is apple to leave out the most vastly requested simple, basic, functional feature such as COPY AND PASTE from their 2.0 update? I'm pretty disgusted with them sometimes...I'm right there w/ya on basically all of the before-mentioned apps also.

Copy and paste would be great. Not exactly an app, though. I wish scumm could be used without jailbreaking.

I've been tempted to jailbreak, but I just don't think that I want to take it that far. It would be one thing if I were single, but it would be pretty difficult to explain to my wife that I need to buy a new iPhone because I bricked mine.

Lol believe me guys Jailbreaking isn't really worth it. I jailbreaked my touch, downloaded a few apps, then exceeded my memory causing half my data to delete Anyway, it's a bit annoying, having to re jailbreak everytime Apple releases a new software update. EDIT: I restored mine a few months ago, thankfully nothing went wrong!!!

No way will I jailbreak, especially after the app store release. It provides plenty for me. I also don't want to kill any tech support I may need, especially considering I still have some of my 90 days left.

I went down the jailbreak route on my old iPhone. To be honest, there's not much that the installer gives you that isn't in the app store (except Crayon Physics).
It's a risky process and certainly not for the feint of heart. Everything is reversable, however the degree of ease to reverse is not the same in all cases so think long and hard before you try it.

There are a couple of things that I would like to add to my iPhone, that can only be done with a jailbreak--
Mobile Scrobbler NES/ Sega emulators
I'd prefer a safer alternative though.
Just to be clear, it's not the actual jailbreaking process that I don't think I can handle--It's the possibility of a future update screwing everything up for me!

I really want an alarm clock that lets you listen to your own music instead of the preset alarm sounds!

Eliu, you can listen to your own music with the alarm clock. You just need to add a custom ringtone, then you can select that as your alarm sound. I use iToner to add custom ringtones and haven't had any issues from it. I know it means you can't select music from your music library but better than listening to 'Marimba'!

Copy and Paste MMS - I hate having to go to the O2 website every time someone sends me a picture message only for it to delete 2 weeks later with no option to save!
