my apologies is this has already been reported but I am running into an issue where I get a popul window stating I am running low on memory on my iPhone eventhough I'm not. I usually get this screen when attempting level up at the tower. it did popup again when I went to the map after exiting the tower as well I believe. once again, my apologies if this has been reported previously.

I am also receiving this error. It's happening seemingly randomly since I updated to 1.0.1. I have a 16GB iPod Touch with 2.2 GB remaining, so I shouldn't be receiving a low memory warning. If I continue playing and ignore the warning, nothing seems to happen, though the warning comes up again every few minutes. I am running the iPod Touch software 2.0.1.

The low memory warning is not referring to the free space you have on the device for music/video etc it's talking about the internal RAM on the device. No matter how much free space you have on your device, you could still see this message.
I'm also seeing it constantly with the new update, but mainly when I've been browsing the inventory. So far the game hasn't exited on me, although I'll admit that the popup is slightly irritating.

How much RAM does the iPod/iPhone have anyway? Yeah, it hasn't quit on me yet, but I wish the warning wouldn't come up (or I wish that it wouldn't take up so much memory. who knows)

I believe the iPhone has 128MB of internal RAM. Not a lot! Hmm, indeed not. Although significantly more than the devices I get to write code for Oof. What devices would those be? Back on topic though, I was just playing this other game today, Sol Free, which is a solitaire game. Guess what? Yeah, I got a low memory error. So it appears, at least for me, that the memory problem may not just be an Aurora Feint issue. Yet curiously, in AF, the memory warning did not start appearing 'til the 1.0.1 update. Hmm...

Hey everyone, As you have noticed other applications display pop-up notices when the iPhone reports that it is low on System RAM (memory). This pop-up is hand-coded by each application. It just so happens that both AF and this solitaire game have it! I added it in 1.0.1.0 thinking it would be nice to let players know that the app is likely to crash due to running out of memory. However, it seems to be causing more confusion than anything so we are removing it in the next update. The iPhone is an interesting platform in that it is more like an embeded device than a desktop PC. So low memory constraints are very real. Unfortunately, as you surely notice, lots of apps have memory leaks (including AF), so you will frequently run into low memory situations when using resource intensive apps like Safari or other Games. I imagine in a few months, after everyone has a chance to really sink their teeth into the platform, these issues should go away. As a side note, we actively are working on reducing the memory footprint and loading time of AF. Every release should get a little better for most of our players. Thanks for playing!!!!!

I work in flash memory, writing code for controllers, so I've got memory in Kb not MB to play with. I really enjoy the challenge, and have always worked in embedded devices where code space and memory usage are very highly optimised. Happy to give the developers a hand if they want some advice on working with embedded devices.
