Updated directly on the iPod touch (actually, the App Store wasn't noticing it was a new version but when I clicked to install the app, it did download and install 1.0.1.0). Wasn't able to startup. Tried soft and hard restarts to no avail. Uninstalled the app, downloaded the new version through iTunes, synced, and eventually got the app to work including the full cutscene. The crash with superimposed tool blocks seems to have been completely solved. Going to home and trying to go back to the game doesn't seem to work. I do get the low memory warning. I have 2GB free and much fewer apps than before.

Under the second to the last patch, it started crashing on startup (a few seconds and then back to phone menu). Now with this patch, the game icon is gone completely. There were crash logs from today (even though I haven't tried to play it) and now the app is completely gone from my menu. I have sent the logs to Danielle's gmail address, and I'm hoping it does some good, but I'm not holding my breath. Sadly, AF has gone from being my favorite app to one I don't even bother to look at any more. Running iphone edge 8gb, with 2.0.1 firmware.

I only wonder how many folks have performed a Reset like this: hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons 'til you see the white Apple logo; continue to hold the buttons 'til the iPod/iPhone turns off. Also, they should try Resetting All Settings, clear all Safari caches, turn off the device, then back on. You'll have to put in your WiFi info again, butthis should clear most anything up. I had probe with the app crashing, though very infrequently. After doing the above I haven't had that problem to the best of my recollection. LOL, yes, because this should be an acceptable app fix. /sarcasm.

I, too, am experiencing the crash issue. I loaded the 1.0.1.0 update this morning and it went well. The update fixed the crashing I had just begun to have with 1.0.0.1. I played about an hour this morning and all was great. I had to go to work and when I got home tonight I can't get the game to load at all. I get the splash screen for about 20 seconds then back to my home screen...just like it was crashing before the update.
It was good while it lasted. I hope you can get it back again. It is a great game when it works. Good luck. I look forward to the fix.

I have not been able to load the game since the update. All I get is the splash screen, then a crash.

The first time I launched the new update it crashed and returned me to the iPhone's home screen. After a phone reset it hasn't happened since.

I have a first gen iPhone 8GB with software update 2.0.1 installed. Ever since 2.0.1 I have not been able to launch AF. Either the "loading" screen comes up for about 15 seconds, then returns to the main iPhone screen, or the music for the intro movie starts for a second, then reverts back to the main iPhone screen., I have tried deleting and reinstalling AF from the phone and from iTunes but I cannot get it to run.
I hope you can get this figured out. This is a really fun game.

I have not been able to load AF since the update that came out yesterday. It starts to start up and then goes back to the home screen.

Hey everyone,
Send me any crash logs you have associated with this type of crash. Send them to daniellecassley@gmail.com and make sure to put 1.0.1.0 in the title. I am trying to hotfix these and get a new release out ASAP to fix your woes.
In the meantime they only way I can think to get your versions working is to remove and reinstall the application without syncing with iTunes. I suggest this based on a few crash logs that I have seen already today... However, given that statement I cannot guarantee that you have synced with the web recently or ever and you may lose some or all of your progress.
Keep me updated on the state of your game. Feel free to PM me and I will work with you to get you up and running as quickly as possible. Excuse any slow responses... there are a lot of you and only two of us.
We look forward to getting you all working and moving forward.
Cheers Danielle

Danielle wrote"In the meantime they only way I can think to get your versions working is to remove and reinstall the application without syncing with iTunes." I took a leap of faith and did it. My progress was saved and the program works great now. THANKS

I posted late last night about my crashes, gave up & went to bed. I realized this morning that I didn't do the most obvious thing last night when the game was crashing and that was a hard reset. I did that and the game is now fine. I guess I didn't think about that because the game had been fine earlier in the day. For what it's worth I played my music on the iPhone throughout the day between the time the game was good and the time it would crash upon loading, and, of course used tbe phone, but, the hard reset seemed to fix everything.

I have tried a hard reset, I have deleted AF and reinstalled from my iPhone 1st gen multiple times without syncing to iTunes, and have deleted and reinstalled from iTunes, with and without syncing, but I can no longer run AF since 2.0.1. Prior to SW update 2.0.1, I had to delete and reinstall AF from my iPhone to get it to work, but that no longer works.

I got the not installed error message on both my iphone and my iPod touch. I reinstalled on both and the installation worked. On my iPhone the game ran beautifully the first time including restoration of my original data. The game has crashed on startup since. Great game I can hardly wait until it works on my phone. It does run on the iPod.

I, like seemly everyone else have experienced initial startup crashing since downloading the upgraded version. see the loading screen for 10-15 seconds then kicked back out. It's been very disappointing because it is a great game to play, fantastic sound and graphics. I've removed it from my iphone until I hear better comments. Hope it will return to page 1 of my phone soon. I wish there was a way to re- (download the original version which seemed to work flawlessly.

Since the new version came out I have had no problems at all (fingers crossed). I have been a bit plagued by the memory warning but it hasn't stopped me mining. The only problem I have now is that there is nothing to mine for as I have completed everything.
I will keep an eye out for updates and start playing again when there are some more challenges. It really is a brilliant game and I hope the initial problems you've faced with crashes and bugs doesn't stop you developing it further.
