you know what i meant....we obviously all know that apple doesn't make their own plastic, that's what asia's for. Stevie j must have wanted to save some money on the backing of his new brainchild and went with a cheaper mix instead of ensuring quality of our iphones.

Speaking of plastic cracks, I thought my iPod had a divot in the screen after I carried it in my pocket. Turns out it was just a scratch in the plastic film that I left on the screen. The screens must be hard to scratch (they are glass), because that isn't even listed as a problem on the Apple repair page. My little Griffin case held out, I guess.

they should do an experiment where they stick it in their pocket gently and see how many cracks form after each time it's fragile backing is touched.

The cracks are happening with both white and black versions but I've read that the majority of the returns for cracks are for the white ones - they're just more visible on the white plastic. I think their plastic "guys" need to consult with the PC World guy for quality testing purposes!

Hmm... the iPod Touch doesn't seem to hold up as well in comparison. The screen is fine, but there's a ton of scratches on the back metal casing, despite the fact it gets its own pocket and I use a case.
