Just to clear this up: Swiping is not a bug, nor is swirling. Swiping, where you frantically swipe blocks, is a random luck-based technique. Swirling is a cheat where you continuously rotate the phone. Also, the clock slowdown in the Smith while swiping is not a bug. It's probably just lag. However, there is a Stuck Tool Bug, where a tool will get stuck in midair and you'll be able to get huge multipliers.

Swirling is a bug, or at least a design flaw. You should lose the game when this happens. This was supposed to be smashed in the most recent update, but I haven't tested it yet.

Well...I guess it's a method of exploiting the game...it's effectiveness was reduced in the most recent update (when I tried it in 1.0.0.1 I could get multipliers over x50), however, testing it since 1.0.1, the best I've gotten is x3, so it's harder to get insane multipliers, but it's still an efficient method of collecting resoucers... perhaps the game should automatically quit if you've gained over 2K resources in under one minute?

I think they did it by lowering the time you can have the blocks shake before you lose. It has always been a strategy of mine to fill the screen before using an alchemy but in this most recent update, I lost before I could match it. Of course, they could always just remove the part where you get multipliers by creating a grouping before the previous one disappears and just make it so that they apply to drops, like this one: e x x xee
They would have to rewrite the game engine to search for these things in advance, though, or else make the blocks explode much faster.

One idea I had for multipliers was that the next one would kick in if you complete a new set before the explosion of the previous set is ended, perhaps with a maximum multiplier of 10X. After 10X you're onto a new multiplier sequence. This way, if you quickly see a way to do a new set within the next second, you get the next multiplier. If you don't, and even if you do a move and then a set within a second, the multiplier resets.
So, consecutive moves that make a set, and that were within a second of the previous set, would advance the multiplier. Tilts would not count as a non-set making move, so a quick tilt and set making, within a second, would count.
You could even let swiping continue to cause multipliers (because distinguishing between a swiper and a fast player may be tough). With swiping you rarely do consecutive moves that make sets, so the multiplier would constantly be resetting.

Timehorse hit on my major disappointment with the game and the use of swiping. "....if random play is more lucrative than thought and skill, I think we have a problem." I finished the game yesterday, but was pretty far along on most skills (working on level 8). So I reset and went about playing through the latest release using the swiping method and I have finished it. I think I made it through all of the blueprints the first time with plenty of time to spare until the last level where I had to do some twice. I don't feel like I really accomplished anything though as it was pure random play (Although I would recommend using the furie tool). I would prefer to use some skill but I am not confident that it is even possible to think and execute to "solve" a level 8 blueprint. Has anyone done it with the new levels without swiping?

Wow...big change in difficulty from last update...i'm dead in the water. I'm trying desperately to use my tools and fast fingers to no avail. Can someone PLEASE tell me why timestop does NOTHING. I've done everything to get it to work and I notice no change in the clock rate or seconds left.

The clock tool only stops the rows from coming up, and then, only until you make a move. It doesn't stop the clock, though I think it should.

Actually, I think the did it by making a rotation reset the multipliers. I just got the "stuck tool block" bug and the only way I could get new rows was by turning upside down. Each time I did that, the otherwise endless multipliers reset. I was only able to get maybe a 5x with it.

I had to start over because after getting all the blueprints, I thought my character was "broken." Turns out I just needed to keep going back to the mine in order to get more resources (not equivalent, apparently, to crystals). Upon my second time around, things started to get hard, and then began to seem impossible. However, certain tools were more helpful than others, and pretty soon, I realized a few things. I used the tools right away, on the resources that had the highest requirements for that level. Then, where I had been flipping the phone up and down frantically, trying very specifically to get those specific resources, I changed my approach. I began using the two-finger increase, getting the rows almost to the top, and swiping less-carefully but more fully and definitely vigorously. I just finished the last blueprint. Start to finish, a few days to get that far. I think the most difficult part, really, were the puzzles, but they were a great addition. I think, now, though, that I am at an impasse. I have finished everything, but my level is only 80 at the mine and there's nothing left to buy in order to increase. I will, however, keep playing in the mine just in case, like last time, it was what I needed to be doing.
Summary: difficulty seemed impossible, but if you play around a bit, it really isn't! Great game, can't wait for more functionality/challenges!

I'm glad I read this. I had downloaded the update, and found myself unable to finish any more blueprints. It became frustrating and I just stopped playing. I'm not a hard-core gamer, and I don't want to be. I do enjoy a diversion, but I also like to progress. It definitely needs to be easier to build blueprints for a casual player./

I think i discovered the reason why the blue prints are too hard. The Tools don;t do anything in the smith.
I used the furie hammer and quickly set three flashing blocks under a X2 multiplier. however the number of blocks that i got in total was 8. 2 for the blocks that were with the furie hammer and 6 for the three blocks that were in the X2 multiplier I got no extra bonuses for using the hammer to make them worth more.

Use the skull in the smith. It's your best bet in my opinion.

Its hard to check pool answer because: 1. When you play it normally it is definitely too hard. but 2. When you use swiping it is definetely too easy. Kinda fun for a while, then gets boring quickly.
