We are now accepting applications to be a beta tester for Aurora Feint!
What do I need to do as a beta tester?
We ask that you actively find and report bugs, test our bug fixes, and generally try and break Aurora Feint. We will release builds whenever we have internal milestones and notify you via e-mail.
How do I become a beta tester?
Send an e-mail to beta@aurorafeint.com with your device UDID (instructions below), your forum username, and your device specifications (Type, generation, size). The subject line should be beta application. Please indicate in your e-mail if you are currently experiencing a crash, and describe it to us. If you have a crash log for that crash, you may also send it along with your application.
How do I become a priority beta tester?
We are looking for a small number of people to engage with actively over Instant Messenger. In this role, we will call upon you at all hours of the day and night to test new builds as we get close to a new App Store release. If you want to be involved with us at almost a live QA level, this is for you. To apply for this please follow the instructions for the beta application except use the subject line priority beta application and write a little bit about why you think we should choose you to help us.
How many beta slots do you have?
We have about 100 slots for both beta and priority testers.
AF isn't working for me. Can you troubleshoot my problem?
We have a few slots reserved for players like this. If you are having trouble with AF and would like to work with us so we can fix your specific issue, we can now do this. The way this will work is we'll connect via IM and basically do a live QA cycle. You'll send us a crash log, we'll fix it, and send a new build directly to you. You test it out and see if it fixes your problem. Rinse and repeat until the problem is solved and AF runs! To request this send an e-mail to beta@aurorafeint.com with the subject line crash and include the same information as above. If you have an IM client, please include the service and your name.
Are any of these positions paid?
Nope! We are not guaranteeing any form of compensation for your time spent in conjunction with any of the programs listed here. But, you'll get to know that you helped make Aurora Feint a better experience and game for everyone. We are discussing various forms of recognition. We may eventually have a special thanks/credits section and include your name or provide badges/icons for your character indicating you were in the program.
When will I know if I was accepted?
Sometime before the end of this week we will release our first beta build. You will be notified around then by e-mail if you were accepted or not.
How do I get my UDID?
You can find out your device’s UDID using iTunes 7.7. or later. To do this, connect your device to your Mac and launch iTunes. In iTunes, select your device in the ‘Devices’ section and navigate to the Summary tab. Click on the Serial Number label to reveal the Identifier field and the 40 character UDID.
PRIVACY DISCLOSURE
We will be retaining your e-mail address, forum user name, device information, and potentially all communication with us for purposes of the beta program. The e-mail address used to submit your application will be bound to your beta account. We will, from time to time, send e-mails to that address with announcements related to the beta program. We will not use your personal information for activities unrelated to Quality Assurance of Aurora Feint.
